A new high-rise building is set to open on Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles towards the end of June.

The 19-story building will serve as housing for unhoused Angelenos. It’ll offer amenities including a gym, cafe, and an art studio.

Each of the 278 units costs about $600,000 and will receive permanent financing from the city’s Prop HHH state housing funds, in addition to $56 million in state tax credits, according to the L.A. Times.

The developer, Weingart Center, said the concept of the towers is to encourage its 700 or more residents to isolate themselves from outside influences.

There will be a total of three towers. The second tower, which will have 302 units, will open in about 18 months. The third building, which will have 104 units, is still in the planning phase, the L.A. Times reported.
