The Orange County Fire Authority received a new helipad, which will help firefighters get to wildfires faster.

It’s located next to OCFA Fire Station 59. Capt. Greg Barta said that before getting the helipad, the OCFA’s four firefighting helicopters had to depart from Fullerton Airport.

“Being able to deploy our resources from multiple locations gives us a great tactical advantage and enables us to get a quick jump on these fires, which is always our goal,” he told KNX News’ Emily Valdez.

The helipad was donated by the city of San Clemente.
