Pedestrian killed on 10 Freeway in Santa Monica

A pedestrian was killed Tuesday after being fatally struck by a vehicle on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway.

California Highway officers were called to the westbound freeway and the Fourth Street exit where they found the victim, CHP Officer Sean Lough told City News Service.

The pedestrian, whose name, gender or age were not immediately known, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The CHP issued a SigAlert that closed the freeway for over three hours.

Lough said the Santa Monica Police Department will be in charge of investigating the fatal crash.
