Unfortunately, the Red Hot Chili Peppers were forced to sit out KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas concert this year due to an injury sustained by someone in the band that sidelined them from live performances for six weeks... but according to frontman Anthony Kiedis, the band will be back in action before you know it.

When announcing that, due to an injury, the band would not be able to perform at this year's 32nd annual KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas concert which returned over the weekend at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA, Red Hot Chili Peppers did reveal that they would make it up to fans on March 2, 2024 at the Kia Forum with a special show for ticket holders. What they didn't mention was exactly who sustained the mysterious injury, and how.
In a video message sent to KROQ on the night of the show, frontman Anthony Kiedis sings his apologies to the crowd and "KROQ spelled with a Q," while also revealing that it was actually guitarist John Frusciante who had broken his finger, causing the band to put a pause on their plans for the next few weeks.
"Our guitarist John Frusciante broke a finger yes it's true," Kiedis croons. "My apologies to you, and you, and you."
Aside from making it up to fans at KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas Encore on March 2, Red Hot Chili Peppers' will also hit the road in 2024 to support their last two number-one albums -- Return of the Dream Canteen and Unlimited Love -- and they're taking a bunch of amazing special guests with them including Kid Cudi, Ice Cube, Otoboke Beaver, IRONTOM, and more to open on select dates.
