A judge sentenced a Los Angeles man to nine years in state prison on Thursday for a string of 2018 burglaries of celebrity homes.
Tyress Williams, 22, was among 31 people indicted in 2019 in connection with the burglaries, victims of which included pop star Rihanna and L.A. Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig.

The grand jury delivered its indictments in the case nearly 10 years after the infamous Bling Ring burglaries struck Hollywood, in which a group of L.A.-area teens made off with hundreds of thousands of dollars in celebrity property.
Williams pleaded no contest to the charges of first-degree residential burglary in connection with a break-in at Rihanna’s home in September 2018 and a burglary a week earlier at Puig’s Encino property. He also pleaded no contest to charges arising from break-ins at a Granada Hills home and Beverly Hills business just weeks prior.
Williams allegedly told police the thieves targeted Puig’s residence because the athlete was "stupid" and was "putting out basically his activities on social media," allowing them to track when he might be away from home.
Williams marks the 23rd defendant sentenced in connection with the burglaries. Six others are awaiting trial, and one case was dismissed, according to court records.
