On Friday, Sen. Adam Schiff weighed in on the indictment of former FBI Director James Comey, and whether or not he will be next.

Schiff was in Orange County, where he held a news conference about the possible government shutdown and the impacts the “big beautiful bill” could have on Medicaid.

During the conference, Schiff said he could be the next person to be indicted.

“We now have a president ordering the Justice Department to persecute and prosecute his enemies,” he said. “We haven't seen anything like this, even in Nixon's era, where there was an effort to go. After the president's enemies list, but it was done in secret and [in] hiding. Here the corruption is out in the open and yes, I'm on his enemy's list, but it is a long and growing list, and I think what the American people need to realize is they might be on his list tomorrow.”

He added that while he can protect himself, he’s worried for those who can’t.

Schiff is currently under investigation for alleged mortgage fraud by lying about his primary residence, which Schiff has denied.
