Small aircraft crashes in Temecula, killing pilot

TEMECULA, Calif. (KNX) — Riverside County authorities have reported a small place down in a field in the 32000 block of Everview Terrace in Temecula.

Riverside County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene, arriving to find the plane’s sole passenger and pilot dead inside the aircraft.

The Sheriff’s Department reported that no streets were closed, but the public was being asked to avoid the area until further notice.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the cause of the crash. The identity of the pilot has not yet been made available.
