A community health center in South LA aims to expand COVID-19 vaccine access to more people.

The goal is to deliver 5,000 doses a day in Watts once fully operational.

Dr. Jerry Abraham, who is director of vaccines for Kedren Health, says, "We are super excited about this new opportunity to partner with the Mayor's Office and the city of LA as we roll out more vaccines throughout Watts and the Southland."

It’s expected to be similar to the vaccination operation at their location on S. Avalon Blvd with plans for a soft opening next week.

"We will take whatever vaccine Washington or the state or the county department of public health will send us. We openly take Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson here at Kedren," he says.

LA Mayor Garcetti says  "We talk about social networks only being online and you know social networks are most powerful in a lot of communities on the ground. And so at Watts we will be working with all of our trusted community partners to get the word out."

Kedren is also putting together a mobile fleet to bring shots directly to where people with some events planned in the coming weeks.
