Six street takeovers occurred across the San Fernando Valley on Thursday night.
It started at the Ralph’s parking lot in Granada Hills. Fox 11 reported that the other takeovers happened at intersections in Chatsworth, Lake Balboa, Sun Valley, Northridge, and Sylmar.
Video obtained by KABC-7 showed fireworks going off during one of the takeovers.
Abel Duran, a resident in the valley, told KNX News’ Karen Adams he’s tired of the street takeovers.
“It gets rough dealing with all this stuff, you know? I mean, I'm pretty sure other people who live here are pretty fed up with it too,” he said. “I mean it gets pretty hectic at night and people are just going crazy and sometimes causing so [many] accidents here and there, everywhere, all different places of the city.”
Another homeowner echoed his frustration with the takeovers.
“I have a dog. He's epileptic and sometimes he gets frightened,” he said. “So sometimes it's bedtime and you're hearing these guys and you're seeing 50, 60 cars come. It’s crazy. One time I couldn't get out of the alley to go to work.”
At each of the street takeovers, drivers took off before police arrived.
No injuries have been reported. It’s unclear if anyone was arrested or cited.
