Clean-up was underway at a Burbank intersection on Friday morning after a water main break, causing a sinkhole to open.

It happened at W. Clark Ave., near Whitnall Highway. Crews from Burbank Water and Power secured the leak, according to city officials.

“Customers in the surrounding area may experience reduced water pressure and lower flow, but the water remains safe to drink,” officials warned.

Davis, who lives in the apartments next to where the water main broke, told KNX News’ Jon Baird that his older truck fell slightly into the hole when the pavement collapsed.

“I went around to pull up and hook up my other pickup truck to pull it back, and when I moved their cones, they're looking at me going,’ no, no, no, don't do it!’” he said. “And then I'm like, ‘Why? It's me. It's my truck, dude.” They're like, ‘No, look.’ That's when it sank. That's when the front end sank into the sinkhole, and I was like, ‘oh my God.’ So I was about 5 minutes too late.’

His truck was towed out, and he said there wasn’t any real damage to it.
