Woman charged with sexually assaulting girlfriend in Fullerton

A 27-year-old woman was charged Wednesday with sexually assaulting her girlfriend in Fullerton.

Veronica Dawn Lawson was charged with domestic battery causing injury with a prior conviction for domestic violence, sexual penetration by foreign object and force, false imprisonment and criminal threats, all felonies.

Lawson was accused of attacking her girlfriend on April 23, with the sexual assault and false imprisonment June 8, and the criminal threats on June 10, according to the criminal complaint.

Fullerton and Buena Park police investigated the alleged attacks, according to the complaint.

Lawson pleaded guilty Oct. 30, 2020, to corporal injury on a cohabitant and malicious damage of personal property, both misdemeanors. In that case she attacked a girlfriend when they lived together in Anaheim, according to court records.

Lawson was sentenced to 12 days in jail, eight hours of community service and was ordered to participate in a treatment program, which she completed, according to court records.
