Woman killed in crash on PCH in Malibu

A woman was killed in a solo-vehicle crash in Malibu and authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.

The crash was reported just after 9:30 p.m. Thursday and California Highway Patrol officers responded to the 3600 block of W. Pacific Coast Highway and Mulholland Drive, near Leo Carrillo State Beach, KTLA 5 reported.

According to KNBC 4, the woman was killed when her car flew off Pacific Coast Highway into the parking lot at the beach.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Authorities searched the area for a second victim who may have been ejected from the car during the crash.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
