This year, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego will host its 22nd Boot Camp Challenge event on Saturday, October 19th. For runners, the race is a 3-mile obstacle course with 60 Marine Corps Drill Instructors on hand to motivate participants throughout the entire race. The obstacles are the same ones used to train recruits into United States Marines. It’s open to the public, and free for non-runners, and everyone who attends can enjoy live music, interactive virtual games, static displays, camouflage face painting, Military Police K-9 Demonstrations, a post-race party and lots more! Staff Sergeant Karlo Esquivel shares what to expect from this event and how to prepare for it.
