For the second night in a row, the Padres ripped a walk-off home run to defeat the Rockies. This time, Gavin Sheets did the honors, clobbering a 99 mph 4-seam fastball from Juan Mejia to send the Friar Faithful into a frenzy. It was Sheets' second home run of the night. The Padres entered the 8th inning holding a 2-0 lead, but Adrian Morejon coughed up the lead, on four singles. Jason Adam would enter with two outs to make his 2026 debut, and got Ezequiel Tovar to ground out. After Mason Miller pitched a 1-2-3 9th inning, Jackson Merrill hit a leadoff single in the 9th. Manny Machado followed with a walk, before Xander Bogaerts flew out to deep right to advance Merrill to third base with one out. Needing just a sac-fly, Sheets cleared the bases as the Padres won their third game in a row.
