The Padres lost Sunday's series finale 4-2 against the Nationals, losing the series two games to one. The Nationals jumped out to a 3-0 lead on home runs by Luis Garcia and James Wood in the 4th and 5th innings. The Padres rallied for two runs in the 7th inning thanks to an RBI-double from Ty France and a sacrifice fly from Nick Castellanos, bringing the Padres within a run of the lead. But the Nationals added an insurance run in the 8th inning and were able to hold on for the 4-2 win. The Padres will be off on Monday before facing the Phillies in Philadelphia on Tuesday.
