Parents are struggling to keep kids occupied during stay-at-home rules, so here is a fun distraction project for making ice cream in a bag! All you need is cream, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, salt, ice, a quart and a gallon size plastic bag. To start, pour half a cup of whipping cream (r half & half), two tablespoons of powdered sugar and a dash of vanilla extract in the quart-size re-sealable plastic bag. Make sure you push out all the air before sealing it. Prevent leaking by doubling up on the plastic bags. Take the gallon-size plastic bag and fill it half way with ice from the freezer and a few tablespoons of salt. Put the bag with the creamy mixture in with the ice and seal it shut. Now shake the bag until the ice cream thickens. This should take about eight minutes. When you're satisfied with the consistency, open up the bags and dig in! This is a great activity to try with the kids in your life. Plus, all that shaking will have you working up an appetite!
