Doctors begin to evaluate our vision on newborns the day they're born, checking on their eyes to ensure there's no physical problem that would affect their vision. Vision tests are conducted on infants starting at six months and a comprehensive eye exam by an eye care professional should be scheduled by age one and repeated before kindergarten. But it is important to notice specific behaviors, or lack of behaviors, that prompt you to talk about it with your pediatrician.
