With the first month of the New Year almost finished, so is the Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco. The annual show presented by the specialty food association highlights the latest food product that are set to populate your store's shelves later this year. So what is trending for 2020? Oat milk in everything. Companies have been in a rush to add this non-dairy alternative in to foods. Look for oat milk ice cream, oat milk butter and oat milk cheese to name a few. Cauliflower is out and butternut squash is in. Butternut squash pizza crusts, cracker and pretzels are already making their way to grocery stores. Another big items this year are single-serve pour-over coffee pouches. Instead of brewing a cup of coffee, all you need is a mug and hot water that you pour over the pouch. Potatoes will have some competition in the snack aisle. Look for thinly sliced lotus roots in chip form that are extra crunchy and earthy in contrast to the artichoke chips which were small and delicate.
