LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Two people were killed in in pair of rollover accidents that happened just minutes apart on Monday night.
The first crash happened in the southwest valley on Buffalo near Blue Diamond Road. Metro Police says the 73-year-old driver was heading south on Buffalo at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the car. The vehicle rolled several times, ejecting the driver. Police say the driver wasn't wearing a seatbelt.
The second crash happened northeast of town along I-15.
Nevada Highway Patrol says that a driver heading south on the freeway near Speedway Boulevard lost control of their vehicle, causing it to roll through the median into the northbound lanes of traffic. The car didn't stop until it was resting on the right shoulder of the road. Luckily, no other vehicles were struck.
Like the first crash, the driver in the second accident was ejected and died at the scene.
All lanes on I-15 North were closed for several hours to allow NHP to investigate.
Names of both drivers have yet to be released.
