LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - After a holiday weekend of record heat and poor air quality, Las Vegas is set for a big cooldown for the middle of the week...before heat returns for the weekend.

A cold front dropping down from Canada will bring southern Nevada gusty winds out of the north, and with that temperatures falling by more than 20 degrees from where we were Monday.

The winds, though, bring with them a Red Flag Warning for Tuesday due to high fire danger.

As the winds came, power was knocked to some and lines came down in certain spots.

Looking ahead to the weekend, temperatures will be on the rise once again, with high temps forecast to hit 100 degrees on Sunday. The National Weather Service says they'll stay around the 100-degree mark through the latter part of next week with no rain in the forecast.
