Black Lives Matter protesters sue Metro Police

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - A lawsuit has been filed against Metro Police regarding its response protocol to Black Lives Matter protests this earlier this summer.

The complaint suggests the department used what it called "violent" tactics to control crowds who were assembling in opposition of police brutality following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Among those named in the lawsuit, The lawsuit named - Sheriff Joe Lombardo. The suit claims the department's actions violated the plaintiffs' constitutional rights to peaceable assembly.

As is their policy, Metro Police offered no comment on the pending litigation
