Body Found In Burned-Out Car

LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Metro Police are investigating after a body was found in a burned-out car in the far northwest side of the Valley on Sunday.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue were dispatched to a reported accident just after 1:00 p.m. on Washburn Road. west of CC-215

When firefighters arrived, they discovered a vehicle was found fully involved in flames. A passer-by told firefighters that someone was still inside the vehicle in the driver’s seat. The passer-by tried to rescue the person, but they said the fire was too intense.

Police on scene determined that an accident wasn't the cause of the fire.

As with any fire that results in a fatality, the incident is currently under investigation by Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Arson Investigators, Las Vegas Metropo Police Homicide Investigators and Crime Scene Investigations, and the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

The identitiy of the person inside the car has not yet been released.
