LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Metro Police are investigating their seventh homicide of the year after a man was shot and killed outside of a liquor store.
The shooting happened Saturday in front of Your Stop Liquors at Twain and University Center Drive (formerly Swenson Street).
When officers arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshots while holding a gun of his own. He died at the scene.
A short time later, another man walked into Sunrise Hospital and Medical with a critical gunshot wound. That man was taken into custody.
Police say it started with a verbal altercation in the parking lot of the busieness, and that escalated into gunfire.
Detectives also learned that the victim was a person of interest in a shooting that occurred early in the day in the 3800 block of South Wynn Road. No person was hurt in that event. Detectives are investigating to see if the two shootings are related.
The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
