Coronavirus Cases In Nevada See Large Single-Day Spike

LAS VEGAS (AP) — After a couple of days where where positive coronavirus cases in Nevada slowed down, new numbers from Nevada Health response showed the biggest day-to-day increase in cases.

New numbers from Nevada Health Response says there are now 3524 positive coronavirus cases in the Silver State, an increase of 203 from Thursday's number.

The Southern Nevada Health District says the number of positive cases in Clark County rose to 2738, an increase of 113 from Thursday's figures.

The SNHD says that 124 people in Clark County have died from virus-related complications, an increas of three from the previous day.

Among the new cases: A worker at the Whole Foods next to Town Square. Officials say the employee last worked at the store on April 11th. The store issued a statement saying that "out of an abundance of caution, the store performed an additional deep cleaning and disinfection, on top of our current enhanced sanitation measures". The store remains open

The vast majority of those getting tested test negative for the virus. According to the Nevada Health Response website, of the more than 29,762 that have been tested, 26,238 have received a result of "negative"
