LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - The Clark County Commission has decided not to pursue an ordinance that would ban large backpacks and strollers at protest marches.
The idea was first floated out during an emergeny meeting of the commission in early June following numerous episodes of unrest during local Black Lives Matter protests. Those episodes included a shooting that left a Metro Police officer paralyzed from the neck down, and the shooting death of a marcher by police in front of the Foley Federal Building, downtown.
The commission was scheduled to discuss the ban at its regular Tuesday meeting but decided to shelve it.
