LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Nevada Highway Patrol says a wrong-way driver caused a fatal accident inside the northbound Airport Tunnel early Friday.
Investigators say it happened just after 2am when a burgundy Chevy Cruze traveling southbound in the northbound Airport Tunnel slammed into a white Audi sedan. The driver of the Audi was killed.
The driver that was going the wrong way was taken to the hospital but suffered injuries that were deemed non life-threatening.
NHP believes the wrong-way driver was impaired.
All lanes in the northbound Airport Tunnel re-opened around 7am.
