Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - The New Year’s Eve party being held down on Fremont St this year will be, like everything else in 2020, a bit different.
Originally, partygoers had to purchase a wristband for a $25 "security fee". Thursday morning, after getting a lot of heat for having a party during a pendemic, the Experience announced that it would be refunding the $25 purchases and allowing access to the Experience only to registered hotel guests downtown.
Suspicions began to grow after the FSE's link to purchase tickets was down on Thursday morning
As it stands right now, the Fremont Street Experience will begin to clear the mall at 5pm, then close for a security sweep. The area will then re-open at 6 p.m. for downtown hotel guest only.
Unlike previous years, there won’t be any live entertainment due to Covid-19. Face coverings will also have to worn, and social-distancing - as much as could be done on the FSE - will be enforced.
