LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Lost in the commotion being caused by concerns about the coronavirus outbreak around the world, are reports of more flu deaths around the Las Vegas Valley.
According to officials from the Southern Nevada Health District, four more flu deaths have been confirmed for this flu season, bringing the total amount of flu-related deaths to 35.
The SNHD says three of those that died were over the age of 65, while the 4th was between the age of 50 and 64. The vast majority of those who have died from the flu this season have been over the age of 65.
The silver lining from the SNHD's latest report is that fewer people have been hospitalized for the flu in the past week.
The Health District is reminding people who haven't had a flu shot yet that it's not too late to get their vaccination.
