LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Two of the area's major sports franchises got some wishes granted by Henderson city leaders on Tuesday.

City councillors voted in favor of issuing $60 million dollars in bonds for the new stadium project to house games for the American Hockey League (AHL) franchise relocating to the area from San Antonio, Texas.

The unnamed team, owned by Vegas Golden Knights founder Bill Foley, will play next season at Orleans Arena.   Construction on the new stadium, set to be on the site of the current Henderson Pavilion, awaits approval.

Also, the Raiders HQ on the south end of Henderson will have a new street address.  Executive Airport Way becomes Raiders Way.  As part of the change, the Raiders will have pay the public works costs of swapping out the signs and maps, as well as compensate businesses who will have to make changes as a result of the name alteration.
