LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - The Henderson Police Department has released bodycam footage from a incident back in December where a man was shot after coming after officers with a knife.
It happened back on Decemeber 14th at the Trader Joe's on Sunset and Green Valley Parkway. Police were sent to the store after getting calls about a man who was holding a knife and threatening to stab someone.
The bodycam footage shows the man, identified as 37 year old John Watson, coming after police after being told several times to drop the weapon. Police then fired several shots.
Watson died of his wounds four days later. Why Watson did what he did isn't clear, and the investigation is ongoing.
The officer that fired the fatal shots was put on paid adminstrative leave pending the result of the investigation.
