Southern Nevada is under an Excessive Heat Warning through Thursday night at 10. Tuesday, Las Vegas hit 97 for a high, tying a record set in 2013.
If all the forecast models are correct, Wednesday's expected high of 102 will be the first time that Las Vegas has ever recorded a high above 100 degrees in the month of April.
Wednesday's high will be the spike in a pattern that has Vegas looking at highs in the 90s into Saturday.
Beginning Sunday, things start to cool off- but not by much.
Highs are still expected to reach the mid to upper 80's through the middle of next week.
Las Vegas' normal high for this time of year is right around 80.
