LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - City and state officials have proclaimed Thirsday "Only Vegas Day" to celebrate the rollout of the city's new slogan "What Happens Here, Only Happens Here"
Governor Steve Sosolak will be down at the Fremont Street Experience to kick off the events Thursday morning at 10, along with representatives from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and the Fremont Street Experience.
The commercial announcing the new slogan will play on the Fremont Street Canopy, while lights on the "Welcome To Las Vegas " sign, the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas and the High Roller at the Linq Hotel will be changing up their look.
Marquees along the Las Vegas Strip will then get in on the action when darkness falls, with a version of the new logo on display.
"What Happens Here, Only Happens Here" replaces the very popular "What Happens In Vegas, Stays In Vegas".
A full rollout was scheduled to happen last Sunday but after the death of basketball legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter in a helicopter crash, the LVCVA decided to postpone the event.
Meanwhile, there will be a :30 ad with the new slogan that will run during the pregame show for Super 54, the first Las Vegas ad to run during the Big Game.
