Las Vegas Near The Top In "Best Place To Get Married" Survey

LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) – Las Vegas is known as the Marriage Capital of the World but, if you believe the folks at WalletHub, there’s a better place to get hitched.

But only one.

Yes, just in time for Valentine’s Day, the financial website is out with a survey on the Best Places To Get Married.

WalletHub compared more than 180 U.S. cities to find the cheapest and most convenient wedding destinations that also promise a memorable day, examining each city across 27 key indicators of wedding-friendliness, ranging from average wedding cost to venues and event spaces per capita to hotel availability.

The only place WalletHub deems as a better one in which to get married than Las Vegas? Orlando. What put Orlando over the top was a much cheaper “Costs” ranking (24th) than Vegas (77th).

How did Las Vegas rank in other categories?

  • 5th – Wedding Chapels & Churches per Capita
  • 49th – Event Planners per Capita
  • 7th – Bridal Shops per Capita
  • 5th – Flower Shops per Capita
  • 1st – Venues & Event Spaces per Capita
  • 5th – Number of Attractions
  • 1st – Hotels per Capita
  • 4th – Musicians & DJs per Capita
  • 5th – Videographers & Photographers per Capita

El Paso, Atlanta and Miami rounded out to Top 5, while Warwick, RI, Bridgeport, CT and Pearl City HI are to be avoided at all costs.
