LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT)- 2019 was a strong year for Las Vegas, and new numbers released on Wednesday by McCarran InternationalAirport backed up the strong visitation figures.
For the first time, McCarran Airport eclipsed the 50 million-passengers mark.
In all, an estimated 51.5 million passengers used the airport in 2019, the third straight year of passenger increases.
Domestic passenger volume grew by nearly 4 percent, with international travel remaining steady.
Southwest Airlines continues to be the top carrier at McCarran. Spirit Airlines was a surprising 2nd place finisher, with business up just over 23 percent for the low-cost carrier from 2018. Delta, American and Frontier round out the Top 5 airlines.
