Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Metro’s investigating two homicides from Sunday. Both happened in the southern part of the Valley.

Police say an elderly man was shot and killed outside of  his home near Tropicana and Mountain Vista after a man approached him as he was arriving home. Investigators say that after the man was shot, the suspect punched him as he lay in the driveway before fleeing. The victim was taken to the hospital, but died from his injuries. The name of the victim has not yet been released.

In the second case, investigators are looking for a man they say shot and killed his girlfriend’s brother. That one happened at an apartment complex near Hacienda and Decatur. Police say the girl's brother and mother had gone to the apartment to confront the suspect, who they say had been abusive to the girl. A fight broke out when the suspect came home and the brother was shot. The shooter remains a large.
