More details emerging in fatal Henderson shooting

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - More details are emerging about an officer-involved shooting in Henderson on Tuesday that left four people dead.

Police got the call around 11 am about shots fired at the Douglas at Stonelake apartments near Stephanie and Wigwam.

Officers arrived on scene to discover a 39-year-old female and a 33-year-old female deceased, and a 16-year-old female injured, all with apparent gunshot wounds.

Officers then located the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Jason Neo Bourne, armed with a handgun, barricaded in a nearby vehicle, with a 12-year-old male being held as a hostage inside the vehicle.

As officers attempted a de-escalation dialogue with the suspect, the suspect held his firearm to the juvenile’s head, resulting in an officer-involved shooting.  

Officers extricated the juvenile from the vehicle and immediately began life saving measures however, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene, along with the suspect. 

The 16-year-old female was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

No officers were injured during this incident.

A Utah church identified three of the people who were shot as Diana Hawatmeh and her children Joseph and Yasmeen. The identity of the 4th victim hasn't been released

Preliminary investigation revealed the suspect fired multiple rounds inside the vehicle, and additional information suggests the suspect resided in the apartment above the victims; however, the incident remains under investigation. What hasn't been answered yet is was caused the shooting to occur.

This is the sixth officer-involved shooting for Henderson police in 2020.

The involved Henderson Police Officers remain on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
