
LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - 2020 was shaping up as a fantastic year for Nevada casinos.
Then came the coronavirus pandemic and all came crashing down.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board released February's numbers on Thursday, and it was another billion-dollar month.
$1.043B, to be eaxct, for a 3%increase over numbers from February of 2019.
The Strip’s take was up 0.7 percent to $596.2 million, while downtown properties were off 4.1 percent to $55.6 million.
Overall numbers for all Clark County casinos were up 0.5 percent, with a take of $897.5 million.
Casinos were ordered to close by Governor Steve Sisolak on March 17th in an effort to help the spread of the coronavirus. At best, casinos won't re-open until mid-April.
