LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - There are three certainties in life: Death, taxes, and robocalls.
No doubt that at some point today your phone will go off, with a number that you don't recognize. Maybe they'll leave a message, maybe they won't.
Then it will happen again. Maybe later today, but definitely again tomorrow. Living in Nevada means it's going to happen here more than almost anyplace else.
A new study from the website Let's Talk ranks Nevada 2nd by state in the number of robocalls that people receive, with an average of 300 per person in 2019 (yeah, that seems low doesn't it?). Only residents of Maryland were bothered more.
Wanna get away from the calls? Then Alaska is for you. That state's residents each received the fewest number of robocalls for 2019, an average of only 45.
Using data from the Federal Trade Commission and Robocall blocking company, YouMail, Let’s Talk determined which states received the highest frequency of robocalls for 2019.
After Maryland and Nevada, Colorado, Delaware and New Jersey round out the dubious Top 5.
