CARSON CITY, NV - Nevada's unemployment rate dropped in May, but the picture is still far from a pretty one.

According to a new report from the Nevada Department of Employment, Training, and Rehabilitation (DETR), the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 25.3% in May, compared 30.1% in April. The unemployment rate was a mere 4% back in May 2019.

Las Vegas had an unemployment rate of 29% in May.

Leisure and hospitality were the hardest hit sectors, while construction jobs showed growth.
