NV Energy Takes Heat For Late-Night Robocall

LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - NV Energy has been urging southern Nevadans to make an extra effort to conserve energy during our record-breaking August heat, but a robocall made by the utility got some people plenty hot.

Many people were awakened by the call that was made around 1:30 Wednesday morning.

An NV Energy spaceman said in an e-mail that “”Due to a technical issue with our calling system, many customers received a call regarding our need to conserve energy during the night. We truly apologize to our customers for the inconvenience."

NV Energy has been asking their customers to refrain from unnecessary energy use, unplugging appliances that don’t need to be plugged an and keeping the air conditioning unit set to at least 78 degrees
