LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Las Vegas firefighters responded to the Fifty 101 apartment complex, 5101 Obannon Drive (just west of Decatur) early Monday morning after fire dispatchers received several 9-1-1 calls that a patio was on fire in the complex.

When firefighters arrived, heavy flames were showing on the patio of a first-floor apartment in a two-story apartment building with 12 apartments.  Firefighters attacked the fire and had it under control in just a few minutes.

The building was briefly evacuated, people were permitted to return to their apartments within an hour. The fire was confined to one apartment. It appeared no one was home when the fire occurred.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Fire investigators cannot rule out that a small bar-be-cue grill found on the patio was the cause. Heat detection equipment used by firefighters to find hidden fires showed that hot coals were still inside the bar-be-cue.

The Clark County Fire Department also assisted at the fire.
