LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT ) - Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak has put a hold on all evictions across the state.
As the coronavirus pandemic continues to impact everyday life, Sisolak issued a directive on Sunday to put a moratorium on evictions for residential and commercial tenants across the state.
It applies to all evictions including ones that have already been filed into court before the order went into effect. That also means lockouts and eviction filings have also been halted.
The order will last through the state's emergency declaration.
The governor stressed that the order shouldn't be considered as mortgage or rent forgiveness, and that once the moratorium has been lifted arrangements will still need to be made between landlord and tenetant to make sure payments are made.
