LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak is said to be considerning toughing up the policy on people wearing face coverings in public, this after a spike on COVID-19 cases in the Silver State over the weekend.
Currently, the general public in Nevada isn't required to wear coverings - just strongly encouraged. That respoonsibility falls to the businesses that serve the public.
Nevada's coronavirus case count increased by over 700 this past weekend, with new cases eclipsing the 400-mark on conseutive days for the first time.
It's believed that the governor is considering instituting a measure simimlar to what was recently done in California. Governor Gavin Newsome made face coverings mandatory for those outside if it's not possible to maintain CDC-recommended physical distancing guidelines of 6 feet between people.
