LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Bail was denied Monday for a woman accused of hitting and killing two teenage girls with her car last week.
Ebonie Whitaker made her initial court appearance Monday morning after two earlier appearances had to be canceled because of injuries she suffered in the crash. Police say Whitaker mentioned to them that she had taken an assortment of illegal drugs the day of the accident.
The two 17 year old girls were hit as they were in a marked crosswalk at Maryland Parkway and Katie back on August 3rd. One died at the scene, the other at a hospital.
Whitaker faces a number of charges, including one of DUI resulting in death.
