Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - A star UNLV basketball recruit will face two felony charges in relation to a fatal crash that happened last week.

Investigators say Zaon Collins was impaired and driving nearly 90 miles an hour when he struck another car near Blue Diamond and Fort Apache, killing that car’s driver.

Collins did not appear in court during the hearing on Thursday morning. The criminal complaint formally charges Collins, who went to Bishop Gorman High School, with reckless driving and driving under the influence causing death.

Collins has been on house arrest at his parent's place with strict electronic monitoring since late last week.
