
LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Record rainfall hit the Valley on Thursday night, leading to numerous traffic wrecks and a swift-water rescue.
McCarran International Airport recorded .77 of an inch of rain, making it the wettest March 12th on record.
North Las Vegas was hit the hardest, with an official rain tally of 1.64 inches. Henderson's official total was .94 of an inch. A flood advisory for southern Nevada was extended through mid-morning on Friday.
As usually happens when heavy rains come, there were traffic accidents aplenty, and a swift water rescue invovling the Clark County Fire Department.
CCFD crews responded to the area of the Flamingo Wash from Paradise to Vegas Valley on reports that five people in the wash had been swept away. CCFD reported two people rescued.
This weekend looks to be sunny and breezy with highs in the mid-60s.
The next chance for rain shows up on Tuesday, with those chances continuing into Thursday.
