Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - The new Virgin hotel going up where the old Hard Rock hotel was on Flamingo and Paradise is delaying its scheduled grand opening.
Too much uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus pandemic is the driving force behind the decision.
The hotel had planned to open on January 15th, but due to the recent surge in virus cases, the decision was made to hold off on the opening for now. Hotel construction continues to be right on schedule.
Richard Bosworth, owner of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, said in a statement that “While the entire team at JC Hospitality is beyond excited to introduce the reimagined resort casino to locals and tourists alike, the safety and health of our guests, partners and team members continues to be our top priority.”
No new grand opening date has been set.
