LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - A portion of U.S. Highway 95 is shut down due to a fatal accident from the overnight hours that involved a wrong way driver.
The crash happened just before 2am and involved a Hummer heading southbound in the northbound lanes on U.S. 95 just past Russell Road. The Hummer slammed into a Nissan Sentra, killing the female driver of that car.
The driver of the Hummer suffered only minor injuries, and was taken into custody. Impairment is suspected.
The crash forced Nevada Highway Patrol to close U.S. 95 past Russell Road. Tge road was closed for over 7 hours before reopening just after 9am.
