Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - You probably don't need any more evidence that 2020 is a weird year, but the icing on the cake is the fact that Las Vegas doesn't rank in the Top 10 for places in which to spend New Year's Eve.

Or the top 20.

Or even the top 50.

In the year 2020, Buffalo, New York was rated as a better place to spend New Year's Eve than Las Vegas.

The financial website WalletHub is out with their annual survey of the best places to ring in the New Year, and the Entertainment Capital of the World ranks as 59th best.

Some of the hotspots that WallhetHub deemed as more attractive NYE destinations than Vegas?

How about Fremont, CA (5th)? Buffalo (24th)? Wichita (34th)? Tulsa (44th)? Yep, all ranked as a better option than Vegas.

In order to determine the best cities for counting down to the new year, WalletHub compared the 100 biggest cities based on 15 key indicators of an enjoyable New Year’s celebration, including safety, COVID-19 cases, quality food delivery options and costs.

Other cities renowned for their New Year's parties place well below Las Vegas. New York City finished 86th in the survey, while New Orleans finished 100th. Dead last.
