LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - The Clark County School District Board of School Trustees approved the adoption of the 2020-21 CCSD final budget.
CCSD is required by state law to submit a final, balanced budget by early June to the State of Nevada Department of Taxation.
CCSD estimates an approximate $2.4 billion general operating budget for the 2020-21 CCSD school year.
Due to COVID-19, there are uncertain aspects of the budget, and based on information from the state and historical results from the Great Recession, the District forecasted a reduction in revenues of approximately $38 million. This is the net result of reductions in Local School Support Tax, Governmental Services Tax, Distributive School Account and an increase in property taxes.
The budget can be reopened at any point before December to account for additional adjustments.
